Implementation Plan

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS:
STOP VAWA funds are open to nonprofit, nongovernmental victim service providers, law enforcement agencies, prosecutors offices, courts and court-based programs, probation/parole offices, state domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking or dating violence coalitions, and state agencies.

CJCC PRIORITIES/MAIN OBJECTIVES:
Every three years, CJCC is required to submit an Implementation Plan to the Office on Violence Against Women to detail how the state will allocate S.T.O.P. VAWA funds. In February 2014, CJCC convened a meeting with many current and past S.T.O.P. VAWA subgrantees to determine the state's priorities for S.T.O.P. VAWA funds. Briefly, CJCC and meeting attendees determined Georgia's priorities to be the following:

• Maintaining core victim services and criminal justice initiatives, while supporting complementary new initiatives and emergency services for victims and their families
• Developing, enlarging, or strengthening programs to assist law enforcement, prosecutors, courts, and others to address the needs and circumstances of older victims and victims with disabilities of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, or sexual assault; including recognizing, investigating, and prosecuting instances of such violence or assault and targeting outreach and support, counseling, and other victim services to such older individuals and people with disabilities.
• Developing, enhancing, or strengthening prevention and educational programming to address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking.

CJCC will continuously work with subgrantees and partners across the state to fulfill the implementation plan in order to ensure that perpetrators of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking are brought to justice, and that victims of these crimes receive services that meet the highest standards of care as required by the S.T.O.P. VAWA statute.

MEETING AND EVENTS:
CJCC convenes quarterly meetings of subcommittees and annual meetings of the full planning committee.
