Overall Factors Addressed: Lack of awareness/knowledge, norms and beliefs, patterns of behavior/activities

Overall Focus of Projects: Raising awareness and providing education to a wide range of audiences.

Project Name: “Sleepless Inn Georgia”

Target Groups:  Hotels and motels in Alpharetta, Marietta, Sandy Springs, and Roswell.

Target Risk Factors Addressed: 1) The transient nature of the hospitality industry; 2) The ease with which this industry is able to fly “under the radar”.

Description of Project: A project to educate hotel and motel owners on Georgia’s HB 141 notification law, and to subsequently provide them with the resources needed to comply with the law.

Goals and Objectives: 1) Identify and approach 65 hotel and motel owners in Alpharetta, Marietta, Sandy Springs, and Roswell; 2) Increase the awareness of the HB 141 Notification Law in Georgia for 65 hotel and motel owners; 3) Provide resources for more than 65 motels and hotel owners in Alpharetta, Marietta, Sandy Springs, and Roswell to assist them in coming into compliance with Georgia’s notification law; 4) Achieve, at minimum, 75% compliance with Georgia's notification law by posting the required flyers in all required locations; 5) Provide crisis information for those currently being exploited; 6) Identify topics for potential training projects in the future for hotel and motel owners.
