Atlanta, GA - Applications are now being accepted for the 2017 Georgia Victim Assistance Academy (August 27-September 1, 2017), in Kennesaw, GA. The Georgia Victim Assistance Academy (GVAA) has been designed to train, educate, and equip crime victim provider professionals with current information that will aid and assist crime victims statewide.

The GVAA is an intense learning opportunity for crime victim advocates. During this immersion experience, participants are exposed to knowledge, practical application, and skill development activities regarding victimology, victim assistance, victim compensation, victim legislation, cultural issues, etc.

These 40 hours of interactive learning will benefit participants by:

  1. Promoting excellence in service to crime victims,
  2. Challenging the way advocates approach service delivery,
  3. Assisting professionals in more fully meeting the needs of crime victims, and
  4. Encouraging collaboration, networking, and partnerships.
