ATLANTA (January 13, 2022) — The Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council is pleased to announce the approval of $499K in funding to 44 agencies statewide for the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program Grant.

In 2020, the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council was awarded the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program (COSSAP) grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). The purpose of the COSSAP naloxone initiative is to provide funding for naloxone kits as well as ongoing law enforcement training in naloxone administration, Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program (ODMAP) implementation standards that commit to reporting, and best practices for engaging with people suffering from opioid addiction. The Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) is pleased to announce the approval of over $499K to 44 agencies statewide.
