Judge Michelle G. Harrison has been practicing law since graduating from law school in 1994. She maintained a successful private practice for 12 years, during which she also served as a Pro Tempore Judge for the Juvenile Court.

In 2006, she was appointed by Retired Judge Peggy Walker as a part-time Associate Judge for the Douglas County Juvenile Court. She transitioned to full-time Associate Judge in 2016 and was appointed Chief Judge of the Douglas County Juvenile Court in 2020.
Judge Harrison has been a dedicated member of the Council of Juvenile Court Judges (CJCJ), serving as Chair of the CHINS Committee since 2016. She joined the CJCJ Executive Board as Treasurer in 2022 and was sworn in as President of the Council effective June 1, 2025.

In addition to her leadership with CJCJ, Judge Harrison currently serves as an advisory member of the Executive Committee and a voting member of the Funding Committee for the Council of Accountability Court Judges (CACJ). She has also served as a voting member of the CACJ Nominations Committee since 2022.
