Governor Deal appoints new CJCC Executive Director
Governor Deal recently appointed Jacqueline Bunn as the Executive Director of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. Director Bunn most recently served as the Deputy Director of Legal Services for the Georgia Department of Public Safety. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and a law degree from the University of Georgia on full academic scholarships. She has been licensed to practice law in Georgia since 1987 and in New Jersey since 1989. While in private practice in New Jersey, she handled insurance defense cases in the areas of medical malpractice, director's and officer's liability in nonprofit corporations, and automobile negligence. Upon returning to Georgia, she worked in the civil rights section of the Georgia Attorney General's Office for almost 10 years. While at the Department of Law, she handled cases from trial through the appellate process. She is a member of the Georgia Bar, the New Jersey Bar, and President of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys.
