Committees

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee, composed of the officers and committee chairpersons, will meet at such times as called by the Council chairperson, or by written notice of three members. In the event of an emergency which would preclude a timely meeting of the entire membership, the Executive Committee is authorized to act on behalf of the Council. Any such action by the Committee shall be subject to review by the Council at its next general meeting.

Crime Victims Compensation Board
The committee hears and determines appeals on denied claims filed to the Council's Georgia Crime Victims Compensation Program.

Criminal Justice Grants Committee
The committee oversees funding from the U.S. Department of Justice for criminal justice-related grants to state and local government entities. The committee is particularly responsible for oversight of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (Byrne JAG), Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Title II Grant (Title II) grant programs.

Victim Assistance Grants Committee
The committee oversees funding from the U.S. Department of Justice for victims of crime related grants to non-profits, state and local entities. The two major formula grant programs include: Victim of Crime Act (VOCA), and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).
