Ira Keith Blander
As the State-wide Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (S.A.K.I.) Investigator for P.A.C. Keith Blander trains and collaborates with judicial circuits, law enforcement agencies, and multi-disciplinary Teams (MDT) to analyze, assess, and investigate cold case sexual assaults resulting from C.O.D.I.S. hits.
In 1987, Mr. Blander joined the Richland County Sheriff's Office in Columbia, SC. After relocating to Georgia, Mr. Blander joined the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority Police Department (M.A.R.T.A. P.D.) as a police officer and later became a detective.
In 2004, He became an investigator in the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office, Juvenile Court Division. Mr. Blander also served as a Domestic Violence and Crimes Against Children (C.A.C.) Investigator. He was promoted to Unit Coordinator for the Crimes Against Children Unit (C.A.C.)Unit. C.A.C. cases included Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC), Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), and child death investigations. In 2017, Mr. Blander became Chief Investigator for the DeKalb County Office of the Solicitor General and served in that role until he retired from DeKalb County.
Mr. Blander holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina, Columbia. Throughout his thirty-year tenure in law enforcement and prosecutorial investigations, he made a concerted effort to engage with the communities he served, participating in career days, adopting schools and communities, and treating community members with respect.
