Georgia Virtual Victim Services Resource Library

Introducing the Georgia Virtual Victim Services Resource Library

You are invited to participate in our virtual resource library as part of our CJCC Statewide Victim Assistance Strategic Plan Workgroup A initiative - which is focused on more adequately meeting the needs of underserved/unserved/under-resourced community members who have experienced a crime. This resource is designed for use by professionals working with victims of crime including advocates, volunteers, and community partners. We hope the resource library will help organizations identify community resources to meet the unique needs of victims with services their agency may not be able to provide. Too often, resources exist within our communities but we are unaware of them. Additionally, staff turnover coupled with ever-growing and diverse communities make it critical that we know who to contact to meet the diverse needs of these survivors. While we are currently unable to meet for an in-person Diversity Fair as initially planned, we hope this Resource Library will help increase awareness among victim-serving professionals about others providing complementary services, especially those for underserved communities.

The purpose of your video within the resource library is to:

  • Create coordinated community responses to all victims and ensure our services meet their unique needs based on how they identify and the type of victimization(s);
  • Inform advocates about how to connect with your agency
  • Introduce your organization to victim advocates at other agencies throughout Georgia; and
  • Let advocates know what services you provide with special emphasis on services (i.e. - languages offered, support for LGBTQ+ and gender non-conforming community members, PREA related, transformative justice initiatives, housing assistance, economic empowerment, technological abuse, alternative paths to healing, etc.) to underserved communities including, but not limited to, persons who identify as religious minorities, teens, victims of labor trafficking, victims with multiple barriers, etc.
