As a victim advocate, Leigh Wiles gives essential support to victims of sexual assault. She provides therapy referrals, crisis management, emergency funds when needed, and support during criminal justice proceedings.

Ms. Wiles has a B.S. from Shorter College and an M.S. from Jacksonville State University. Ms. Wiles previously served as an Investigator for the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services, where she was Investigator of the Year, as a certified forensic interviewer for a District Attorney's Office, and for 27 years as a counselor for the Georgia Department of Corrections. While with the Department of Corrections, she provided parole summaries, taught offenders anger management and life skills, and worked in an intensive therapeutic program for sex offenders at a Level 5 state prison. Ms. Wiles retired from the Department of Corrections as a Chief Councilor for a residential substance abuse treatment center.

In 2017, Ms. Wiles became an advocate at the LiveSafe sexual assault center and joined the SAKI team in 2021, embedded at the Rape Response sexual assault center. When asked about her role as a SAKI advocate, Leigh says, "My hope is our work can help survivors regain their sense of self, rebuild their lives, and find closure and justice they have been longing for. I have witnessed the impact being believed can have. I often hear from survivors how the SAKI team has changed their lives, but I know the opportunity to work with them has improved my life. To see their strength and ability to deal with the trauma is something that we as a SAKI team are lucky to be a part of!"
